Adventures in Synthetic Biology

Well, this is pretty cool.Adventures in Synthetic Biologyis a comic that appears on theNature website. A comic in a scientific journal? If that doesn’t legitimize the artform, I don’t know what does. It was drawn by Chuck Wadey and written by Drew Endy and Isodora Deese from the MIT Synthetic Biology Working Group. They even explain the process of creating a scientific comic in a the comic project wiki.

DNA Lego Bricks To Produce Nano-sculptures
But using tiny loops of DNA as “bricks”, Harvard (of course) scientists have developed a Lego-like set of nucleic acid building blocks. The sequences in each loop only stick to certain neighbors in certain orientations, just like real Legos. Those rules are defined by all the standard base-pairing rules that you learned in biology class. You can see some of the shapes that they’ve developed above.
DNA molecules are the building blocks of life, of course, but this take that to a new level. Take a look at some previous DNA construction projects: DNA origami and a DNA “genotypeface”.

Biologist, we fuck life, we hack bacterias. We see them as you see ipad or android. Hell yeah synthetic biology.

Kultwit #jatuhcinta oleh @ryandipp

tondton:

1. Kultwit #jatuhcinta mngkin akn panjang, krna tdk mudah membeberkan sisi sains dgn bahsa twitter utk sesuatu yang sudah sangat familiar.

3. Maka, mari kita mulai kultwit ttg sains #jatuhcinta dengan membahas sedikit ttg objeknya terlebih dahulu, manusia.

4. Berdasarkan ilmu Biosistematik, manusia terklasifikasi sebagai genus Homo dan memiliki nama spesies Homo Sapiens. #jatuhcinta

5. H.Sapiens merupakan spesies primata dr golongan mamalia yg dilengkapi otak berkemampuan tinggi, semua pasti setuju kalau ini. #jatuhcinta

6. Manusia mrpkan keturunan dr sebh grs pnjang tdk terputus dr leluhur yg tlh brhasil meneruskan grs keturunan dgn proses:kawin #jatuhcinta

#jatuhcinta
